The fight against cancer hits extremely close to home. As you may know, my mom fought and won a battle with lymphoma three years ago. She was cancer free for about 3 months and then we received a new diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer. She lost her battle with lung cancer less than a year from her diagnosis. She left us for paradise on April 20, 2017. Now more than ever, I want to bring awareness and raise money for lung cancer research.
I have re-joined the endurance team called "A Breath Away" and will be running the San Jose Rock n Roll 10k in honor of my mom and all who suffer from or have been affected by any type of cancer. Being a member of this team is so important to me because we will be raising money for the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (ALCF).
ALCF is one of the largest philanthropies (patient-founded, patient-focused, and patient-driven) devoted exclusively to eradicating Lung Cancer through research, early detection, education, and treatment. The Foundation’s goal is to work with a diverse group of physicians, organizations, industry partners, individuals, patients, survivors, and their families to identify solutions and make timely and meaningful change and turn lung cancer into a chronically managed disease by 2023. The ALCF was established on March 1, 2006 as a 501c(3) non-profit organization and has raised nearly $25 million for lung cancer research and related programs.
My goal is to raise money to help fight lung cancer. I am asking for your support. Your tax deductible contribution could give others a chance to fight this disease and win.
I am thankful for all of your support.
