My birthday is May 2nd. I do not want any gifts this year, but instead ask that people donate to the only organization that funds research for the ROS 1 genetic mutation. My daughter, Amie, who has never smoked and has lived a very healthy lifestyle, was diagnosed in October with stage 4 lung cancer due to this mutation. She is doing well on a targeted drug, but that response lasts typically only 2 years. Lung cancer is the largest cause of cancer deaths, but the poorest funded of major cancers for research.
