At 32 years old Cori Casebeer was a non-smoking, yoga-loving vegetarian who was diagnosed with lung cancer.
WHAT? That's possible? Apparently it is.
Despite finding it at Stage 1, and having the majority of her left lung cut out, a year later it recurred at Stage IV, which is just a nice way of saying "terminal." She felt hopeless.
⭐️But then a miracle happened ⭐️
It was found that her cancer was being driven by a gene-rearrangement (mutation) called ALK. And recent research found a way to completely stop this cancer mutation in its tracks.
Yes, completely stop it.
She started on one of these ALK Inhibitors and had an amazing response. NOT ONLY DID ALL OF HER TUMORS DISAPPEAR, BUT THEY HAVE BEEN GONE FOR 3 1/2 YEARS! 🎉
But there's a catch: lung cancer is incredibly tenacious and smart - it eventually figures out a way around these life-giving drugs and starts to grow again. Gahhh! So frustrating right? BUT WE ARE SO CLOSE. There is amazing research happening, right now, all over the world, to turn this death sentence into a manageable chronic illness.
Please consider donating to help further this life-giving research. Your donation will directly go to projects that will help Cori, and hundreds of thousands of people like her, live longer with cancer.
❤️Please donate today to help her live longer with ALK Lung Cancer. ❤️
Thank you!
