Hello, I'm Michelle Spishak and here's my story. I was diagnosed In July of 2019 with Stage 4 Non Small Cell Lung Cancer that had spread through out my body, Just before I was to start Chemotherapy, my biopsy showed mutations of ALK positive, which meant I was able to take a Targeted Therapy Chemo Pill, that targets the cancer cells and minimal side effects. 16 weeks ago I started that Chemo Pill and Today I'm Cancer Free! WOW! I'm a lucky one, there are many who are fighting to get to cancer free and they need our help, which will help me in the future.
This is why... There are currently only a few target therapy drugs for ALK and once your body becomes immune to it, it will stop working and you move on to another chemo pill, There isn't much money that goes into research for lung cancer, like the other cancers out there and we basically are fundraising to save our lives, for more ALK target therapy drug or possibly a vaccine that will put this cancer to rest. MORE RESEARCH = SAVED LIVES.
This type of cancer is rare, only 4% of lung cancer patients have this type of cancer. It affects young healthy people, athletes, whom have never smoked. Any one with Lungs can get Lung Cancer!
Please help me this month to raise awareness and funds for Lung Cancer Research!
Thank you and Lots of Love
