In April 2019, my bro James (Jamie) was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. It came as a complete shock, that someone so young would receive this news when seemingly fit and healthy.
When he was diagnosed, we learned that he had ALK Positive lung cancer. This type of cancer isn't caused by environmental or lifestyle factors, but a rearrangement of genes in your DNA and particularly affects young people - anyone with lungs could get it.
No one yet knows the underlying cause and there is no cure.
Thanks to recent advances, there are treatments that stop the cancer from growing, however eventually everyone develops immunity to these treatments allowing the cancer to grow again.
This is where you come in. We need your help to fund more research that could extend, and may even save his life - and that of others in the same boat.
To raise money, and awareness for this cause, I'm running a half marathon in London - The Big Half - on 1st March 2020.
Any donation however small is really appreciated. Thank you.
(NB: All currency is in dollars as the money is directly funding research which happens in the US).
