Thank you for taking time out of your busy lives to visit my page and learn how you can help me as well as others with EGFR positive lung cancer.

As many of you know, I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in August of 2017 even though I am a non-smoker. For over 9 months, I had a stubborn cough and laryngitis. During this time, I saw several different doctors all whose diagnosis was bronchitis. Because I am a nonsmoker, no one suggested a chest x-ray until I visited a walk-in clinic and a nurse practitioner, her first day on the job, recommended a chest x-ray. It was later determined that I have the EGFR mutation which is found in only 10% of people diagnosed with lung cancer.

I am blessed that my current treatment continues to work, but my long-term survival depends on new treatments advancements. I would love to have more time to spend with family and friends!

The EGFR community is funding a research study specifically designed to figure out why EGFR cancer develops resistance to targeted therapies. Currently, resistance is inevitable and disease progression often occurs within 1-2 years of starting a targeted therapy drug. The objective of this research is to try to understand overcome this resistance, information which is critical to extending my life and the lives of everyone with EGFR positive lung cancer.

To fund this study, the EGFR Community needs to raise approximately $270,00.00. The Bonnie Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (ALCF), the largest lung cancer foundation in the U.S., is partnering with the EGFR community to support this research study.

Will you make a donation today towards my personal goal of $5,000? 100% of your donation will help to fund this critical research to benefit patients with EGFR lung cancer.

Without my family and friends, who have supported me throughout my cancer journey, this diagnosis would have been overwhelming. We are truly grateful for your prayers, kindness and generosity. My hope is that one day all cancer will, if not be curable, become a chronic disease. With your support we can make this happen!

Dave and Family, we are so sorry Dawn lost her battle with lung cancer. Our hearts break for you. Though we had similar diseases, God chose different paths for us. I pray, through research, that outcomes will greatly improve for us lung cancer patients. This foundation is a wonderful way to continue that research. Our thoughts and prayers are for all of you.
