As we embark on a new chapter in our lives, we reflect on the journey that led us here today. In 2005, Sahil's mother, Smita, was diagnosed with lung cancer. After a courageous battle, she passed away in 2006. Since that time, increasing lung cancer awareness and improving outcomes for patients with lung cancer have been core goals of ours. In fact, Smita's battle was the major reason for Sahil to choose a career in Medicine, a career choice that led him to meet Naomi at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
