This cause is very close to my heart and I would really appreciate your support.

Today is the start of National Lung Cancer Month and as someone who has been living with this disease for just over two years, it is very important that I use this month to try and highlight just how much more research needs to be done, specifically into my very rare type of cancer (ROS1). Some of you will know that I have a very rare gene (ROS1) which has caused my cancer. I am a member of a Facebook group for ROS1 patients and their carers which has a couple of hundred members globally. I have learned so much from them, the most important thing being that there was a drug trial about to start in London which I was able to join and which, to date, has managed to stop the disease from progressing. But cancer is clever and is able to mutate and stop treatment working. That's why it's important to find new treatments and one day, perhaps, a cure. In order to conduct research specific to my ROS1 cancer, we have partnered with the Bonnie Addario Lung Cancer Foundation; we raise the money, they conduct the research. It is amazing to be involved in something like this.

I'm asking for your support to help me do my part. I don't climb mountains or row the Channel and I don't intend to start now. However, I would be so very grateful if you would consider making a donation to help fund our research. I know the research is being conducted in the US but drug availability is global. So if you can help support our research, please do. Thanks
