Since my diagnosis in October of 2017, I've learned a lot about lung cancer. One of the more surprising statistics was that despite being the largest cause of cancer related deaths each year, lung cancer research receives very little funding.
If you know me, you know I don't do "sit around and wait" very well. With the help of a group of dedicated friends, we established the Lungbuster non-profit to hold an annual 5k race that raises funds for a designated ROS1 research project.
ROS1 is the mutation that drives my cancer, and it only occurs in 1-2% of non-small cell lung cancer cases. Helping to fund research dedicated just to this small population group gives me hope that additional treatments will be available when I need them.
Thank you for stopping by, and thank you for your donation. Any amount helps when we add them all together!
